Altana was established in 1992. It was the dream project of Marina Salamon, who decided to specialise in childrenswear from the word go. We started out small, but we grew to become the leading company in Italy, and the second in Europe, in the high-end baby and junior clothing segment.
We’re considered serious and solid, but not rigid. We handle some of the best-known trend-setting fashion labels and we’re at the forefront of the licensed-manufacturing sector. We’ve grown up; about 200 people now work with us in Altana, plus a few thousand in allied activities. Nonetheless, we’re still a very close-knitted team and we make quick decisions. Altana’s expansion continues and we’re always ready to grasp the new opportunities the market offers by developing our existing licences and acquiring new ones – but always from strong, successful brands.

In summer 2011, Gucci will start selling two new baby and junior clothing ranges which Altana produces for Gucci, 100% Italian-made! We also have our very own brand ... AMORE.
Marina is now Altana’s chairwoman and Barbara Donadon its managing director and partner: “together, we’re eager to rise to new challenges with our usual enthusiasm and commitment”.
