DONDUP COLLECTION A/W 2012-2013

Pitti Immagine Bimbo hosts the debut of the first DQueen & DKing collection (4-14 years) to come from the collaboration between Dondup and Altana. The collection for autumn/winter 2012-2013 is ideally showcased in the Sprone on a stand with a typically Dondup feel.  

The children’s collections draw inspiration from the men’s and women’s ranges. They display the same painstaking research into details and studied choice of fabrics. The vintage luxury concept enjoys new life in detail-rich clothes that may seem casual but are actually the result of thorough research.

The palette is dominated by natural shades, plus touches of powder pink for girls and green for boys.

The DQueen little girl wears edgy styles with exquisite accents such as silk, sequins or golden embroidery, which give a more feminine effect. In addition to denim – the soul of the Dondup brand and available in a range of washes and treatments – the girls’ collection is characterised by a widespread use of cashmere cotton, merino wool and knitted styles with silk inserts.

For DKing boys, trousers are slim-fit and show a particular focus on washes. The outerwear, such as the duffle coat and pea coat, were made with a meticulous eye for details and fabrics. The elegantly-cut jacket is matched with vintage-look styles and accessories.

PINKO UP AUTUMN WINTER COLLECTION 2012-2013

The new PINKO UP collection is split into three stylistically complementary groups, each distinguished by its palette and functions.

The Rock’N’Doll range has a palette of soft colours such as pink, powder blush, black, grey and off-white. Styles with a certain elegance emphasised by lace inserts are matched with others of a more attitudinal cut. Demure dresses with taffeta bows are worn with long or short bomber jackets. Sequins decorate outerwear, dresses and viscose jersey skirts.

Fierce Fantasy’s dark blue, off-white and bright green create the tartan pattern seen on dresses, skirts and trousers. This range also includes plissé knits, such as dresses and skirts, and cloth outerwear with a ribbed collar. There is a particular emphasis on cardigans to be worn with T-shirts; both are available with an animal print or with butterflies or dragonflies. There are also several versions of short- or long-sleeved T-shirts: with motifs of masked heroines or with sequinned inserts on maxi sashes to tie at the waist.

The last range, Hot Winter, features clothes in velvety shades like dove-grey, grey or brown with a few touches of gold. Knitwear appears as loose-fitting dresses, on vintage-look denim sweatshirts and as cotton or wool sweaters. Cardigans in cocoon volumes have original two-tone styling.
Then there are little jackets, muffetees and knitwear with rabbit-fur inserts as well as a faux-fur sheepskin.

MANILA GRACE COLLECTION AUTUMN-WINTER 2012-2013

The Manila Grace collection for autumn-winter 2012-2013 draws inspiration from the 1930s. It features articles in luxury materials such as silk and furs in addition to romantic designs.

Colours: inspired by the stars of music and the silver screen. Madonna white, Boy George blue, Luis Miguel beige, Audrey Hepburn grey, Robert Redford ochre, David Bowie green, Rick Astley brick-red, Simon Le Bon hazelnut.

Fabrics: micro modal, viscose or wool jersey, printed wool, poplin, embroidered cotton, plain or patterned silk, dyed and embroidered lace, printed gabardine, velvet, stretch drill, denim, knitwear in various yarns and weights, furs.

The collection’s soft, warm knitwear displays original, unusual lines. Romantic, stylish articles such as printed-silk dresses and tops are matched with edgy accessories like studded belts. Tiny-polka-dot jerseys, high-neck sweaters, dresses and socks. Coloured lace blouses, dresses and muffetees. New sleeveless dresses with delicate embroidery around the hem and a sequinned waist sash. Woollen short jacket with embroidered flowers and the added touch of a rose-patterned lining. Jacket with appliquéd fur and organza roses. Asymmetric-cut sheepskin fastened at the waist with a leather sash. Classic biker jacket in all the colours of the collection palette. Silk voile scarves – must-haves of the Manila Grace collection – are available in various patterns such as large roses, diamonds, polka-dots and jumbo coloured dots, tartan or flowers. The 100% silk scarves are new for this collection and in the same patterns as the silk voile scarves.
The collection is rounded off by Micromodal and knitted thigh-high stockings; knitted collars, muffetees and berets; smooth belts or others with vintage-effect leather studs. Three boot styles: half-boot, with spats and knee-high, all available in the collection colours.

MANILA GRACE DENIM AUTUMN/WINTER COLLECTION 2012-2013

The MANILA GRACE DENIM girl’s collection (girl, 4-14 years; baby  3-6 months to 3 years) for autumn/winter 2012-2013 is characterised by versatile styles that are easy to mix and match.

The palette comprises gravel white, roof red, house grey, chimney dark-grey, rain grey mélange, pathway off-white and cloud blue.

Materials: jersey, stretch jersey, stretch fleece, piqué, nylon for outerwear, knits and printed knits.

GIRL
A large part of the collection is composed of T-shirts, in both a basic version used for layering, and a more original one with raw seams, a special fit and pop-inspired decorative motifs. There are oversize, printed fleece tops, hooded and egg-shaped parkas and short biker jackets with detachable muffetees and a knitted collar. The jersey or gauze dresses should be worn with knitwear and T-shirts. Trousers have a slim fit and, in some cases, a low crotch.
In addition to T-shirts, knitwear is another important part of the collection. Available in two different yarns (angora or alpaca) and two designs (tiny flowers or animal markings), the styles include short jackets, high-neck pullovers and maxi vest tops. The look is completed with collars, muffetees, chunky socks and scarves.    

BABY
The Baby range repeats the same concepts, shapes and fabrics of the Girl collection, but restyled to fit babies and toddlers. The range also includes a series of playsuits. One with a hood, hand warmer pocket and maxi decorative motif; one with a low crotch; and one with raw seams. There are also two dungarees, fleece or knitted.
